For me, with age, comes the wisdom. Wisdom I wished I had in my younger days. Decisions that I made would or could have had a different outcome. “If only, I did this.” Or, “If I chose that, the circumstances or end result would be different.” However, in doing so, we are always looking back. We need to look ahead to whatever life has in store for us. When one shares their wisdom with younger folks, their immediate response tends to be that we don’t know what we’re talking about. They deny themselves the opportunity to understand how the wisdom you gained can be beneficial to them. Another thing that gets better with age is the ability to appreciate the simple things. The smell of flowers. The scent of fresh baked bread. Enjoying the sunrise with a cup of coffee. A day trip to see beautiful landscapes and appreciate it’s beauty. Not slowing down but to take the few moments to appreciate even the simplest things in life. These things we often take advantage of when we were younger, When we do, it is then that we age gracefully rather than regret.
