Prompts? What is it? Prompts is a way for writer’s to get out of the writing slump; to get their creative juices flowing. I just started using prompts to get my thoughts flowing again. I got myself a notebook that I record my topic ideas in along with the prompts I have used. As artists who paint or take photos, subject ideas can be at a stand still. A blank canvas waiting to be filled with vibrant colors. A camera waiting to capture that special photo. Writing is no different. A blank page in a journal or on a computer screen can be daunting. “What do I write about today?”

Prompts sure do help! I enjoy the challenges that prompts give me to keep going. Just a mere 20 minutes a day, I am developing a habit of writing. With my notebook, I am staying organized in my thoughts and ideas. I have a book filled with prompts that I can refer to when I feel too dry to write. You may see a prompt and my piece that follows it here in this blog!
